

There is plenty to do in East Lothian for families, and with over 40 miles of stunning coastline, there is always a great beach to visit.

For those of you who enjoy pottering about in rocks pools the ones found on the East Beach in North Berwick and Seacliff, nr North Berwick are great for finding crabs and all sorts of underwater creatures. The beaches at Yellowcraig, Dirleton provides a great location for a picnic, and you can hire BBQs from the council. There is also a fantastic pirate treasure island play park.
For those of you with young children there are some great play parks in East Lothian, with some equipment that Mums and Dads can enjoy too!! Play areas are located in Neilson Park, Haddington; Lauderdale Park, Dunbar; Lewisvale Park, Musselburgh and the Lodge Grounds, North Berwick. A cafe is available in Dunbar and in Lewisvale park there is an outdoor paddling pool.

Each of the main towns has a swimming pool and the one located in Dunbar is a leisure pool with waves and a flume.
