There is so much to do with the family in East Lothian, if it’s the great outdoors you’re looking for we have it in abundance, with miles and miles of beautiful beaches, perfect for picnics, rock-pooling, or long strolls along the sandy bays. There are lots of places to visit, from castles, to farm parks to aeroplanes – big ones including Concorde!!

For those of you looking for value for money, there are lots to do for FREE in East Lothian. Both John Muir Birthplace in Dunbar and Prestongrange Museum outside Musselburgh are free, as is a trip to the ruins of Hailes Castle nr East Linton. East Lothian has some great children’s play parks, suitable from tots right through to teens, Lauderdale park in Dunbar situated within a walled garden, complete with café for coffee and cakes. And at the beach at Yellowcraig, Dirleton there is an adventure play area with woodland walks leading to the beach.
