The East Lothian food & drink project was initiated by the Economic Development Division five years ago with the remit to support our local food & drink businesses by promoting East Lothian as a top “foodie” destination in Scotland and to highlight the fantastic quality and variety of produce available within the county. Since the initiative began the East Lothian food & drink brand has become increasingly recognised through the production of our food & drink directory and attendance at high profile consumer shows such as Taste of Edinburgh, the BBC Good Food Show and for the first time this year, The Royal Highland Show. The food & drink directory is also available on-line at www.foodanddrinkeastlothian.com.
Through the summer months we run the food & drink competition which is an ideal way to showcase East Lothian’s food, drink and hospitality providers that are using local produce and providing an exemplary service. The awards dinner to announce the competition winners is held in October.
