Nestled along the East Lothian coast is the picturesque village of Dirleton, with the imposing castle taking centre stage in the middle of the village opposite a quaint village green.  With two pubs, great beach and a huge castle itís a great place to spend the day.

What to see and do...

  • Dating back to the 13th century the magnificent Dirleton Castle is managed by Historic Environment Scotland and is open all year round. 
  • Yellowcraig Beach, a popular beach located on the outskirts of the village, has lovely views across to Fidra Island, rumoured to be the inspiration behind Robert Louis Stevensonís Treasure Island.  Facilities include toilets, showers and childrenís play-park.  Car parking charges apply.
